    Description

    I am a disabled American Vet and this coin is something to behold. When I was issued my Dog Tags I never Knew that there were Dog Tags / Love tokens in the Civil War. To my understanding the soldier would take a coin and put either his initials or his sweethearts on it.
    Then he would make plans with a friend to return it to family if he should fall. That way the family would know where he was.
    If only this coin could talk and tell it's history...was it from a Northern Trooper or a Southern Calvary Man, did he fall or make it. make up your mind...maybe the initials can be traced?
