Antique Victorian tintype ghost mother and infant extremely interesting and.... Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. up for auction is true ghost mother tintype. these are RARE and somewhat unsettling but are completely typical for the era.  note the mother's (seated position) her draped knees and arms in the background are very visible and it gives the child the appearance of floating. during the time, camera shutter speeds were extrely slow making it difficult to get a good image of and adult let alone one of a infant or child. as was standard practice the mother was draped in the background to hold the child in position to take the photo giving to us what is a rather unusual image. nowadays it's unimaginable to do such a thing we always have a camera on us to capture those special moments in life at an instant not the case in the infancy days of photography. it s a hard item to separate with but I don't display it simply because I have too much stuff! don't miss out on an opportunity to get one of these seldom seen little sidenotes of history. please feel free to ask questions. please check out my other listings for more great items.
