    Description

Offered for sale is a set of FOUR plates in the "Wildflower" pattern of Elegant Depression Glass.  This pattern was manufactured by the Cambridge Glass Company of Cambridge, Ohio during the 1940's and 1950's.  This is a beautiful pattern - one of my favorites - featuring white etched wildflowers on a clear glass background.  Elegant Depression Glass was sold in better department stores and jewelry stores during the Depression Era (1930's - 1950's).  It was not given away or used as premiums like its other Depression Glass cousins.  Each plate measures 7 inches across from flat side to flat side - if you measure from scalloped edge to scalloped edge it measure more like 7 1/4 inch across.  These are listed as salad or dessert plates.  I identified this pattern in the great book "Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era" by Cathy & Gene Florence (copyright 2009, 13th edition).  The condition of each of the FOUR PLATES is EXCELLENT with no chips, no cracks, no scratches.... no damage that I can discern.  ***  There is a bit of roughness around the bottom foot of the underside on one or two plates, probably from stacking the plates.   You will receive FOUR PLATES.  Please look at the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase.  You will love these plates!!
