Presented for your consideration is this lot of 4 antique advertising pocket mirrors. Details on each are below. Overall the lot is in GOOD-VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
~Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co.
The front of the mirror has a white, orange, blue and black coloration throughout with an ornate design at the top. Inside of the ornate design reads "H.S.B. & Co. OVB Our Very Best." The rest of the front reads "Hardware. Tools, Cutlery, Sporting Goods and Paints. Hibbard, Spencer, Barlett & Co. Chicago." The company was in business from 1865 to 1962.
The back side of the mirror has a reflective surface. Reflection is still fairly clear.
Some wear is present around the outer edges of the reflective surface. Very light wear is on the front.
Measures 2 1/8" in diameter and 1/8" thick.
~Garland Stoves.
The front of the mirror has a red logo against a light cream background. Inside of the insignia it reads "Garland Stoves and Ranges" and underneath the insignia is a banner ribbon which reads "The World's Best." The back side of the mirror has a reflective surface.
Some discoloration is along the right hand side of the mirror. The reflective surface has three wear lines.
Measures 1 3/4" in diameter and 1/8" thick.
~Mercantile Tailoring Co.
The front of the mirror has a red border around the outer edge with black lettering inside of the border. The middle of the mirror is designed to look like a clock face with red hands and red Roman numerals. Black lettering is over the clock face. Inside of the red border reads "Highest Quality Lowest Price." Rest of the mirror reads "Up To The Minute in Style For Clothes Of Comfort And Service Order From Mercantile Tailoring Company Chicago." The back side of the mirror has a reflective surface.
The reflective surface has three wear lines in the center with tiny wear spots around the lines. Very light wear is on the front of the mirror.
Measures 1 3/4" in diameter and 1/8" thick.
~Union Shoes.
The front of the mirror has a red, white and blue coloration. In the center is a picture of a single boot. Reads "Wear Union Stamped Shoes. Look For This Stamp. Boot & Shoe Workers Union Union Stamp Factory No. Compliments of the Boot & Shoe Workers' Union." Back side of the mirror has a reflective surface.
There are 5 wear spots ranging in size on the reflective surface. Front side of the mirror has some fading around the outer edge and some discoloration along the right and left hand sides. Some light dinging is near the top.
Measures 2 3/4" long by 1 3/4" wide.
