    Description

Nellie is a bright light in her dark world. She was born in 1936 to an unwed woman. The young woman's parents sent her abroad to deliver little
Nellie and avoid bringing shame on the family. Once delivered, Nellie was handed off to an orphanage in Detroit. Nellie's mother, Stacey, was so
wracked with guilt over giving up her Nellie she waded into Lake St. Clair and refused to swim. She walked until she could no longer keep herself
under, her own body struggling to float and gasp for air. She refused to indulge it. Her body was found 2 weeks later near Sandusky. The only way
the authorities could identify her, was the pink elephant and metal name tag she was still clutching. The name tag was surrendered to the police
and the elephant mysteriously found its way back to little Nellie.
Nellie is 1 month old and weighs just under 2 pounds. She has some obvious physical damage from such a rough few weeks on this earth. Please
review pictures before adoption as she is  missing several body parts. Her are are connected in the sleeves, but not to her torso. But they are
intact as they are sewn to the sleeve. But this allows great dexterity! Please let me know if I can provide any additional pictures of information.
Nellie will be delivered to your home with her blanket and precious pink elephant. Thank you so much for considering our lovely Nellie!
