    This style of shooting badge was the style worn by National Guard Soldiers that qualified as an Expert Rifleman with their rifle. This is a typical Pre WWI-WWI era war shooting badge. The National Guard badges were different
    from the Regular Army. The
    National
    Guard had Brass, bronze or copper colored marksmanship badges.
    Why did we go with a pin back and not pin and catch? So these cannot be mixed up and mistaken for original items. So they can be attached and removed from uniforms without making any large holes and are easy to adjust.
