Description
This is an excellent reproduction of the WWI USMC P1917 winter blouse, made by What Price Glory. Bought as a P1912, with no lower pockets, the lower bellows pockets were added to create the P1917. This was done to original P1912 blouses in 1917, until production of the new pattern ensued. This is a large size, approximately a 46. Across the shoulders measures 19 1/2 inches, seam to seam; across the chest measures 24 inches, pit to pit; sleeves measure 21 inches, pit to cuff; waist measures across 22 1/2 inches, seam to seam below fourth button; sides measure 19 inches, pit to hem. The collar DOES NOT have holes for EGA's as this was not permitted until 1922. Wartime EGA discs were made in France, to wear on the issued Army blouses, which had the holes. I have left the non-period manufacturer's label inside, as seen in photos, and will let you remove at you desire. I have added period-correct size and QM ink stamps into the left sleeve lining, as an added detail. This is, for all intents and purposes, new. It has never been worn. New from WPG is 5, when in stock, but you can get this without paying the tailors fee for sewing on the bellows pockets. Sold as is.
